President's Message
Dear Friends,
MetroLacrosse started with a single team in a single neighborhood with the idea that a non-traditional
sport could be an interesting way to engage Boston’s urban youth in a comprehensive education and life skills
program. Today, MetroLacrosse serves more than 500 youth and teens each year in free, year-round, sports-based
youth development and education programs that span the entire City of Boston, as well as the cities of Cambridge and Chelsea.
MetroLacrosse uses the team-based setting as a launching pad for the intentional cultivation of personal, academic
and social skills that lead to success. Although there are lots of ways to define success, we believe that any kind
of success is generated from a set of core values and skills that make us healthy, active and responsible members of
our various communities.
I hope that you find some useful information on this website to help you get better acquainted with MetroLacrosse
and then to become more involved. Whether you are a student, a parent, a donor or a volunteer, I welcome the
opportunity to share MetroLacrosse with you!

Emily G. Helm, President & CEO
